The Research and Development Stability Specialist provides support to the Stability Group by performing labeling and processing activities for stability samples received from Manufacturing for initiation of stability studies. The Stability Specialist will also assist with verification and shipment of stability samples, as well as the weekly/monthly cleaning of the stability chambers and the daily operations in the office area. Also, the position requires knowledge ordinarily acquired by earning a high school diploma. The incumbent must be very detail oriented and possess excellent communication skills. The primary responsibilities will be:
Responsible for the correct labeling of samples received from Packaging Department and accurate placement in totes for storage in stability chambers at appropriate storage conditions
As needed, assist with removal of samples from stability chambers for daily pulls for required testing, sample verification and shipment of stability samples, if needed
Assist with performing weekly and monthly cleaning of the stability chamber areas
On a daily basis, assure that filing of stability documentation is kept up
Perform daily temperature checks on stability chambers
Additional duties may be assigned at management discretion
The incumbent must possess computer skills with regard to working use of word-processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail programs.
Also, work can be performed in an office and a laboratory/manufacturing environment. Exposure to biological fluids is possible. Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment is possible. Personal protective equipment required such as garments, gloves, and protective eye wear when working in laboratory type setting. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time (4-5 hours). Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, moves of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. with assistance. Frequently walks, bends and twists neck and waist, may reach above or below shoulder height. Ability to listen to and understand information presented through spoken and written words and sentences. Performs tasks by following a set of written or oral instructions/procedures.
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent of experience working in a manufacturing environment may be considered.
This position does not require experience; however, experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. In addition to the education listed above this position requires two years of related experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
