Responsible for performing Electrical Engineering activities in a medical device company located in Laguna Hills, CA. Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
Design and development of medical equipment for both new products and for sustaining engineering.
Electronics design, development and analysis of digital and analog circuits and systems. Power and RF circuit design, development and analysis may be required.
Support development from concept through manufacturing handoff and sustaining.
Maintain Design History Files in accordance with established Product Development Process.
Develop and maintain design control documentation, test procedures and test protocols.
Perform testing and data analysis for design improvements and verification testing.
Perform design and debug of hardware systems, wire harnesses and test fixtures.
Responsible for device compliance with safety, ESD, and EMI/EMC regulatory requirements.
Create requirements, reports, protocols, and engineering documentation for testing of components and systems.
Participate in risk management activities. Provide technical expertise pertaining to the identification and mitigation of design and use risks.
Must be able to understand, analyze, design and troubleshoot complex electronic systems, including analog and digital control systems.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree or greater in Electrical Engineering.
8+ years of experience as an electrical design and development engineer. Work with medical systems is desired.
Design and Development of electronic devices and systems from concept to manufacturing.
Schematic design and PCB layout experience. Experience with Altium Designer is preferred.
Familiarity with IPC standards relevant to design and acceptance of electrical assemblies is desired.
Familiarity with designing and testing to the IEC 60601-1 and related standards is desired.
Demonstrated fact based reasoning and problem-solving skills in both business and engineering situations.
Leading organizational growth in a start-up environment preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

Position is primarily sedentary and employee may be required to sit for extended periods of time. Standing, walking and meeting activities are required frequently throughout the workday. A large portion of the day is spent communicating orally in person and by phone. Normal sight or corrected vision is required to read documents and use standard computer terminals. Some light lifting may be occasionally required.
