Sr CAD Technologist
Key responsibilities include:
Create mechanical models of design concepts and drawings in Creo and Solidworks - 3D CAD solid and surfacing modelling. High proficiency in Creo needed.
Drive ideation and design for device implant CAD model along with supporting tooling/jigs/fixtures. Hands-on prototyping, and feasibility testing of new concepts.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with the capacity to differentiate when to create a fast/effective prototype while iterating on a long term stable solution.
An effective candidate must have hands-on skills with the proven ability to independently apply deep technical knowledge in CAD, perform detailed design analyses, and employ sound judgment to lead complex initiatives. Looking for creative mechanical designer with the following experience and attributes:
Electro-mechanical integration or electronics exposure
Knowledge of design and manufacturing of mechanical medical devices
Solid understanding of general manufacturing processes including machining and injection molding
Demonstrated innovation, curiosity, and ability to tackle complex technical problems
Established track record of delivering on projects in a high energy environment
Strong mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of and proven experience in design, R&D, manufacturing, and commercial release products
Strong design skills including 2D, 3D CAD solid, surfacing modeling software and other analytical tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo)
Hands-on experience with 3D CAD data management systems (Windchill)
Knowledge of materials for use in medical devices
Experience with DFM methodologies and a passion for delivering highly-manufacturable products
Experience of working in a regulated industry Medical/Aerospace/etc.
3D Parametric CAD in Creo and SolidWorks
Injection Molded Part Design
Surfacing Modeling Design.
This person can have medical, industrial, or aerospace experience. Non-invasive patient device design and development experience is preferred.
Strong understanding of the ASME Y14.5M-2009 drawing standards
Good written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
Good computer skills, including usage of CAD (e.g Creo, AutoCAD, CAD PDM) and MS Office Suite; experience in Solid Works preferred
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating drawings
Ability to read, comprehend, write, and speak English
Substantial understanding of drafting principles, techniques and procedures
Moderate ability to utilize 2-D and 3-D CAD software
Moderate understanding of ASME Y14.5M-1994 drawing standards
Ability to identify problems and relevant issues in straightforward and more complex situations, assessing using standard procedures
Ability to read and understand procedures, drawings, schematics and carry out instructions
Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines
Strict attention to detail
Must be able to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental tea
