Senior Research Associate

Provide assistance to the in vivo pharmacology team with preclinical studies in mice and rats.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist scientists with all in-life phases of in vivo studies (primarily mouse and rat models of inflammatory diseases).
Conduct routine procedures such as dosing, blood and tissue sampling, inoculations, necropsies, monitor animal health, collect and record data.
Execute studies using good documentation practices.
Work closely and effectively with a fully integrated team to facilitate the success of the projects.
Provide weekend/holiday coverage for the vivarium when needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of a B.A./B.S. degree in a science-related field with 5+ years hands-on experience in rodent experimentation, preferably in industry.
Demonstrated experience in animal handling and in standard in vivo techniques: routine administration (oral gavage, intravenous, subcutaneous and intraperitoneal), blood collection (retro-orbital or tail vein bleeding, cardiac puncture), tissue harvest and necropsy.
Must be dedicated to providing humane animal care in accordance with all relevant regulations and current practice standards.
Excellent organizational skills with good record keeping.
