R&D Partners is seeking to hire a Research Technician II in South San Francisco, CA.
Your main responsibilities as a Research Technician II:
We are seeking a motivated scientist interested in using structural biology to understand the molecular mechanisms of large macromolecular complexes involved in DNA repair processes.
The role involves protein purification, reconstitution, and structure determination of DNA-protein complexes using cryoEM.
Additionally, you will help to develop functional biochemical assays to assess and determine the mechanism of action of various multi-subunit protein complexes.
You will be highly encouraged to think deeply about the biological problem, make significant intellectual contributions to the chosen research project, and work closely with other team members.

What we are looking for in a Research Technician II:
BS/MS degree with 3-5 years of experience or a PhD with 0-2 years of experience in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Structural Biology, or a related discipline.
Hands-on experience designing and optimizing the purification of challenging protein targets (including protein complexes) for structural and/or functional studies.
Development of functional biochemical and biophysical assays.
Experience in cryoEM sample and grid preparation (beneficial qualification).
Experience with mammalian cell culture functional assays (beneficial qualification).
