Your main responsibilities as a Research Associate III:

Prepares microscopic slides on human/animal tissue for research/diagnostic purposes, which include: specimen accessioning, trimming fixed tissues, tissue processing, embedding paraffin blocks, microtomy (paraffin sectioning), cryotomy (frozen sectioning), H&E staining and special staining.

Microscopically identifying tissues or areas of interest within specific tissues before sending slides for evaluation, ensuring that the requested tissues or areas have been captured

Performs histochemical and enzyme histochemical stains with appropriate controls on a variety of tissues to assist in diagnosis

Create working documents for new technical procedures as needed

Maintains laboratory, equipment, and accurate records of quality assurance control

What we are looking for in a Research Associate III:

At least two to three years of experience working in a histology lab, especially with paraffin sectioning

Other histological skills such as grossing, tissue processing, embedding, and staining are required.

Willingness to work with fixed and frozen veterinary tissues

HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification is preferred

Must demonstrate a record of relevant professional experience
