R&D Partners is seeking to hire an Associate Engineer, Adjuvant Development in San Carlos, CA.
We are looking for someone an energetic and talented individual to play a key supporting role in the Formulation Development function. This role is searching for an individual who is interested in vaccine research and working directly on adjuvant development. This individual s role would support the adjuvant engineer in large experimentation and execution of adjuvant manufactures. They will be responsible for preparing materials, executing adjuvant development studies, manufacturing small-scale batches and characterizing the batches produced to achieve desired results. He/she would also support the broader team (Drug Product) such as analytical and process development groups.Adjuvant Development
Your main responsibilities as an Associate Engineer, Adjuvant Development:
- Responsible for preparing reagents/materials (buffers, solutions, etc.), independently manufacturing adjuvants, and performing drug product manufactures.
- Responsible for characterizing batches of adjuvants with analytical validation assays and performing data analysis (Prism, JMP, etc.).
- Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting in a laboratory setting.
- Being scientifically accurate and keeping excellent written records of experiments undertaken.
- Support senior scientists in execution of experiments, running assays, interpreting data as needed and preparing buffers and lab reagents for use in manufacturing and testing activities
- Work with colleagues in ordering lab supplies, new vendor setup, and inventory management of consumable and stability samples
What we are looking for in an Associate Engineer I, Adjuvant Development:
- BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Organic/Biochemistry, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biology and a related discipline with 0 years of industrial experience.
- Prior knowledge of vaccines, basic chemistry, and nanoparticles highly encourages for this role.
- Experience in particle characterization techniques (Zeta potential, DLS, ELS, etc) and willing to learn new techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills, reliable, and able to execute tasks with integrity and excitement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in manufacture of buffers, pipetting, and lab reagents required.
- Experience in Prism, JMP, Benchling and additional laboratory record keeping/data analysis preferred.
- Highly efficient and structured work practices including practical laboratory work, notebook upkeep and general record keeping. Experience in Prism, JMP, ELN (Benchling) and additional laboratory record keeping/data analysis preferred.
Pay Scale:
$75,000 - $83,000 annually
