The UX designer in this role will be working on publishing tools for this division, a web-based software tool that enables authors and publishers to upload and sell their books and audiobooks on this platform.
  • Work with publisher partners as well as cross functional project stakeholders to understand and uncover publishers' workflows for uploading, tracking, and verifying business metrics and objectives in selling books and audiobooks
  • Drive improvements to improve these workflows via information architecture mapping, interaction design, and visual design
  • Leverage user research, in partnership with UX researcher, to interview users and derive insights from user testing sessions that can be directly applied to product features
  • Work with engineering, product, and user research partners to implement and test the design
  • Present findings to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, clearly defining tradeoffs, dependencies, and constraints, as well as opportunities to improve the user experience of the product
  • Review UX directions with senior UX, Eng, and PM leadership
TOP 3 Daily Responsibilities:
  • Define and design interaction models, components, and information architecture that supports the user needs of the product, leveraging the existing UX components
  • Test and iterate on designs with ongoing feedback from stakeholders and users
  • Hand off final specs for delivery, review builds for quality, and shepherd product through to launch
  • BA/BS in Design, HCI or related field or equivalent practical experience (5+ years)
  • Strong portfolio of work related to web applications and/or mobile user interfaces End to end design skills including strong attention to detail, typography, and visual design
  • Outstanding skills in application design software such as Sketch and Figma
  • Proven ability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale, all within a user-centered design process
  • Experience designing web applications for desktop
  • Web development/prototyping skills
  • Experience running workshops with cross functional teams in a design-centered process
