PREREQUISITES

Bachelor s degree in a scientific discipline with at least 8 years work experience or Master s degree with at least 6 years of work experience. (will consider Scientist I or brand new PhD or 1-2 years post doc)


Responsibilities (will include, but are not limited to):


Plan and execute scientific experiments related to multiple research programs

Target validation in oncology models using CRISPR or RNAi approaches

Maintain primary and cancer cell lines and conduct routine cell culture tasks

Conduct routine molecular and cellular experiments including cloning, DNA/RNA/protein extraction, RT-PCT, Westerns, target knock-down and knock-in

Conduct various routine cell-based assays to characterize drug compounds, including dose-response studies

Analyze, interpret, and present scientific data

Accurately maintain written reports

Review current literature pertaining to relevant projects

Excellent communication, collaboration and organizational skills required

Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment; flexibility to adapt to changes


Skills/Knowledge Required:

Bachelor s degree in a scientific discipline with at least 8 years industry experience or Master s degree with at least 6 years industry experience.

Practical experience in, and a solid understanding of basic cancer cell biology, immunology, and assay development.

Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture (primary cells and cell lines); experience with 3D patient-derived tumor lines/3D culture techniques and immune cell co-culture is desired

Experience working with small molecules compound.

Expertise with a variety of cell-based assay technologies including cell phenotyping technologies (e.g., flow cytometry, imaging) and functional assays such as cell cycle and apoptosis, antibody-based detection methods (e.g. Western blotting, ELISA) required.

Strong background in molecular biology techniques (Molecular Cloning, qRT-PCR, transfections, DNA/RNA extractions, CRISPR, etc.), cell and tissue culture, flow cytometry, SDS-PAGE and Western blot analysis a must

Experience with the use of HTP/HCS and automation instruments, is a plus.

Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration and organizational skills are required as well as the ability to independently design, execute, and trouble-shoot experiments through completion.

Data analysis skills and experience with a variety of scientific software applications are required.
