The Cardiovascular and Metabolic (CVM) Disease Area is seeking a highly qualified and motivated scientist to join the Cell Pharmacology / Systems Biology group in support of pre-clinical drug development programs.
The responsibilities of this position include the development and execution of cell-based assays, in vitro culture and genetic modification of cells, and implementation of basic molecular biology.
The candidate will also be expected to assist in writing of research documents, publications, and presentation of data.
Basic cell and molecular biology techniques and mammalian cell culture
Experience with basic cell and molecular biology techniques and mammalian cell culture are essential.
Experience with human iPSCs, lentivirus infection/production, and FACS is preferred.
Cell-based assays, in vitro culture and genetic modification of cells, implementation of basic molecular biology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively in a team environment and to learn new techniques are essential.
A record of accomplishment, as demonstrated by publication(s) or abstract (s), is required. Industrial experience in preferred but not required.
Qualified candidates should possess a MS degree in biochemistry, molecular or cell biology, biophysics, biomedical engineering or a related field, or a BS degree and at least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience
