Scientist - Translational Medicine

The Transnational Medicine Department has an exciting opportunity for a Scientist in the Multiple Myeloma Disease Group. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in cell biology, biochemistry, and/or molecular biology. The primary responsibilities of the position will include:
Performing target validation and mechanism of action studies while maintaining a large panel of cancer cell lines.
Obtaining, expanding, and characterizing cancer cell lines for screening purposes by performing knock-down, over-expression and drug-treatment studies.
Supporting various cell-based assays and mechanistic experiments to understand the sensitivity of cancer cell lines to proprietary compounds.
A Masters/PhD degree in life sciences is preferred. For PhD candidates title could be changed to Scientist based on internal agreement. A B.S. degree with minimum four years of experience in sciences is also acceptable.
Strong self-motivation with the desire to expands one's knowledge and skill set.
Be familiar with various molecular and cell biology techniques.
Experience with flow cytometry and confocal microscopy will be a plus.
Strong computer skills with an emphasis in data handling and processing. Strong desire to learn other new techniques such as 3D culture and single cell sequencing.
Strong written and oral communication skills and an ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
