We are a team of computational and experimental scientists dedicated to making a moonshot in the life sciences. We re looking for a research associate with a background in metabolomics sample prep for a 1-year contract position. Activities expected of this hire will include but are not limited to:
Assist protocol development for a metabolomic pipeline, including sample processing.
Generating samples for, and the operation of an HPLC.
Assist the development and testing of plate-based assays.
Working closely with a multidisciplinary team to execute microbiology measurements.
Assisting with general laboratory maintenance, including purchasing supplies necessary to conduct experiments and adhering to laboratory safety standards.
Ongoing use and testing of early team prototypes of computational tools.
Experience quenching cells and processing samples for metabolomic analysis. Experience operating an HPLC. Experience with performing general laboratory duties such as preparing media reagents, and basic maintenance of equipment. BSc degree in systems biology, biochemistry, chemistry or similar. 1 year or more of relevant research experience Strong time management and organizational skills. Exemplary written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Experience executing plate-based assays, such an enzyme activity assays. Experience with basic molecular biology techniques, such as DNA, RNA and protein purification, PCR, qPCR, cloning. Demonstrated experience with bacterial cell culture and relevant assays. Familiarity with analytical and computational methods for analyzing molecular biology data.
