San Diego Metro Area, CA
As a research associate within the Nanofabrication group of Research And Technology Development Group, you will play an integral role in expanding applications. Candidates with experience carrying out experimental work in the areas of nanofabrication, microfluidics, bio sensing, sensitive electrical measurements, and surface characterization will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with broad experience in two or more of the above areas.
The detailed assignment of the position will be dependent on the qualifications of the successful applicant. Candidates with experience in two or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
Micro and nanofabrication, including photolithography, nanoimprint lithography, reactive ion etching, metallization/material deposition, and bonding.
Basic materials characterization, such as SEM, AFM and high resolution microscopy to characterize surfaces and interfaces and understand failure modes.
Optical and electrical characterization
Analytical and functional experiments to quantify system performance, including surface chemistry and microfluidic protocols
Design and fabrication of simple jigs and fixtures
Mechanical and software interfacing with control and measurement instruments
MS in Physics, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or a closely related field with hands-on lab experience preferred. BS candidates with solid lab experience will also be considered.
