After introduction to work processes, begins to organize, conduct and monitor laboratory experiments utilizing established and published procedures, and technical and theoretical understanding.
Research Associate I/II PCR

Responsibilities/Support:
  • Assist Research and Development efforts for digital PCR (dPCR) master mix and associated reagents
  • Work within a small team in order to efficiently develop and launch dPCR-related reagents
  • Applications work demonstrating performance and utility of multiple assay types with the developmental dPCR reagents and system
  • Ability to keep deadlines
Requirements:
  • BA or BS in biological sciences or equivalent
  • Laboratory experience with modern molecular biology tools and techniques
  • Good written and oral communication
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office basics, proficiency with Excel spreadsheets
  • Maintain electronic laboratory notebook to document experiments and results
  • Ability to work under deadlines; good time-management skills
  • Ability to work in the lab for multiple hours per day and with potentially infectious material
  • Ability to handle complex and variable assay setup
Desired Skills:
  • Experience setting up and running qPCR and/or RT-qPCR experiments
  • Prior experience with other commercial dPCR systems (i.e. BioRad, Raindance) is beneficial, but not required
  • Understanding of JMP statistical software is beneficial, but not required
  • Basic experimental design and interpretation

Requirement:
1-3 years of PCR Experience and a BS/MS degree
