Research Associate to contribute to assay development, automation and productionization of high-throughput high-complexity microbiome-directed assays for both internal and external research projects. In addition to hands-on experience with sterile laboratory techniques, an ideal candidate will have wet lab experience performing a variety of assays on nucleic acids and cells. You will play a crucial role supporting our efforts aimed at revolutionizing healthcare to be more proactive, preventative, and tailored to individuals. This is a one year contract role with the possibility to extend one year, based upon performance and research needs.

Responsibilities Contribute to experimental research projects of high complexity Contribute to assay development for projects of high complexity Contribute to the validation of workflows for microbiome related projects Perform complex molecular biology protocols in a robust and consistent manner Troubleshoot and test experimental workflows Contribute to the dissemination of results Support and maintain research inventory, calibrate instruments, and perform record-keeping Qualifications and

Skills BA/BS degree in genome sciences, molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Experience with molecular and/or microbiology assay development and troubleshooting Excellent written and verbal communication skills Enthusiasm, independence, and a willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications and Skills 1-2 years experience working in molecular biology, microbiology, or genomics laboratory Method/assay development experience in genomics and/or molecular biology Ability to multitask many projects at once Experience in sequencing library preparation
