Project Overview:
  • This is an exciting product offering search users the opportunity to compare prices, find reviews and get more information about what all is out there
  • Your role would be to work with the Shopping team to research how users respond to current and new experiences
  • You would manage and execute such projects as usability studies, concept tests and perhaps some surveys
Overall Responsibilities:
  • Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of how users experience online shopping
  • Collect and analyze user behavior throughout the product development lifecycle, including foundational, evaluative, and summative research methods
  • Work with designers, product managers, engineers, and research managers to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations
  • Demonstrate leadership values and skills
Required Skills:
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science or related field
  • 5+ years of work experience in an applied research setting
  • Experience with a wide range of methods including usability, surveys, remote moderated and unmoderated studies, in-depth interviews, ethnographic fieldwork, international studies and expert reviews
Nice to have Skills (not required):
  • Research experience in consumer facing digital products
  • 6-7+ years of relevant work experience, including experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices
  • Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase
  • Good working knowledge of quantitative research and the principles of experiment design
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills
