Position Description
  • Deliver complex projects from conception to implementation and QA and manage the relationships among them
  • Work with Engineers in local and remote offices to develop and roll out project workflows
  • Analyze the pipeline of work and productivity in order to optimize throughput of the operations team
  • Supervise temporary workers and optimize resource allocation across offices, languages, and projects
  • Prioritize and assess impact of bug fixes and ensure new feature requests are fully specified for implementation

Management: Manage production calendar and create/communicate deadlines for all dataset ingestion tasks, including new datasets and updates to existing ones.

Day-to-day: Keep the production calendar up to date and in close coordination with ingestion engineers and designers, ensuring everyone knows what the priorities are and the calendar reflects current states of implementation, and blockers when they exist. Proactively identify blockers hindering production calendar milestones and communicate them to relevant stakeholders

  • Production Sync: Run twice-weekly production meeting to discuss week s priorities and curate status updates
  • Monthly XFN sync: Meet with XFN and leadership to discuss progress on longer-term assignments, production deadlines, and feedback
  • Office Hours: Weekly time to field questions, ideas, feedback from internal organizational stakeholders
  • Scheduling: Own scheduling and logistics of ad-hoc meetings with relevant internal/external stakeholders
Analytics and Reporting:
  • Generate insights and key findings from launches and ongoing project work to share with stakeholders. Put in place measurement programs to monitor and measure impact
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly team update reports to be shared with internal stakeholders
  • Work with writers to curate updates into externally shareable language and format (e.g., a blog post)
  • Documentation: Keep production-related documentation up to date
  • Inbound requests: Be the first point of entry for incoming dataset requests from external and internal stakeholders, triaging requests, filing new requests, or increasing priority of existing requests
  • Bug Triage: Connective tissue between dataset bugs (identified by internal and external users) and new dataset requests
  • Demonstrated operations management aptitude with experience in manufacturing or similar
  • Prior experience working with and training in a cross-cultural environment with remote teams
  • Logical thinking and independent decision making skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and solution-oriented attitude
  • Excited about maps, geospatial information, visual design, and communication
