Perform routine quality control evaluations on assays and reagents to verify analytic accuracy, precision, and sensitivity according to established ranges
Perform preventative maintenance and calibrations on instruments/equipment according to defined schedules
Familiarity with how to make dilutions
Familiarity with small sample volumes, excellent pipetting skills
Participates in proficiency testing of unknowns (CAP surveys)
Assist in maintaining inventory by reporting to supervisor low levels or absence of necessary supplies.
Compiles statistics for monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
Determines normal and abnormal components of bod fluids by conducting chemical analyses (chemistry, hematology, coagulation) of blood, urine, and tissue homogenates.
Knowledgeable regarding normal and abnormal white blood cells as well as red blood cell and platelet morphology, using microscopic techniques.
Perform automated testing of: CBC, platelet, retic and autodiff, using the ADVIA 2120i analyzer. Prepares slides for staining.
Performs automated testing of: PT, PTT, and Fibrinogen, using the Stago Compact Max analyzer.
Performs automated testing of various chemistry assays using the Beckman Coulter AU480.
Experience using Xybion Pristima lab interface software, excel, GraphPad Prism.
Completion of a BS in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or related field. Maintains ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist.
