Under the direction of the Senior Litigation Paralegal, the Litigation Paralegal will maintain legal files and related documents, in paper and electronic form and assist the Litigation team with Litigation matters. Must have strong interpersonal skills, be a team player and be willing to work in an environment where individual initiative and accountability are required. Must be able to work with limited day to day supervision.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Summarize and maintain litigation files (including closing out a file at the end of a case).
2. Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing litigation in conjunction with Senior Litigation Paralegal and attorneys in managing case files and timelines.
3. Assist in maintaining litigation database which houses electronic files, summaries of cases.
4. Interact with personnel.
5. Be willing to assist in various other litigation matters such as document collection and litigation scheduling.
Strong Microsoft Office experience are required. (Excel will be used for charting)
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary.
Fluency in the basic concepts of litigation including understanding of litigation practice and timelines are necessary.
Understanding of common litigation documents is required.
Experience with document management software such as O365, Relativity, and doeLegal Ascent is highly desirable.
Experience working in a corporate legal environment is highly desirable.
