Data Governance Program Manager

This position is responsible for implementing and managing non-GMP data governance program in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology (PS&T). Senior role within a business organization or function that is accountable for and decision-making rights over the development of policy, process, and standard that govern the quality, definition, use, access, and lifecycle of information assets and data; strategically focused and maintains an enterprise view. This position leads the non-GMP data governance team in the execution and maintenance of the data governance framework and content. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of standards associated with all relevant data elements (content, metadata, etc.) and administration across the various functions and teams within PS&T.
Responsible for leading and executing a consistent, harmonized, sustainable and effective Data Governance Program that complies with company established requirements
o Implement control structures within a simple environment to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
o Provide leadership and participate with projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes
o Ensure controls are in place over applications to ensure the data integrity by performing data integrity gap analysis.
o Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with the business owners and IT.
o Work with business partners to gather and understand functional requirements, develop complex queries and provide reports
o Ensure continuous improvement of data governance program.
Responsible for leading, reviewing and approving periodic reviews and performing risk monitoring of implemented systems across multiple organizations to ensure continued compliance.
Responsible for defining, assembling and communicating metrics that yield on-going process improvements and optimization across multiple organizations.
Responsible for leading, reviewing and approving mitigation and remediation strategies across multiple organizations when gaps are identified.
Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the business glossary.
Responsible for performing continuous improvement of the Data Governance Program ensuring the program is maintained current with industry standards and support key company initiatives.
Responsible for change management plan and approach.
Responsible for the continuous improvement of the PS&T Data Governance program through the interaction of global functions and activities (i.e. IKU, Corporate Taxonomy)
Responsible for alignment of local functional data governance with enterprise data governance.
Must be skilled in critical thinking, solving problems, managing stakeholders, and negotiation.
Must possess a global mindset to strategically align governance principles with business objectives.
Ability to critically interpret problems and propose solutions, and effectively communicate impact and risk to management, the group, and the broader organization.
Must have a logical approach to structuring the interaction of people and systems, and creating models to effectively merge technologies (data acquisition, storage, and retrivement).
Leverage available institutional knowledge and interface with teams across the organization.
+5 years of data governance / data management experience
Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry experience
Experience in working in cross functional, multi-cultural and global environment
Proven project management experience
Proven technical team leadership
