The Early Research and Development department is looking for an Associate Scientist the join the Oncogenesis program. The candidate will work to identify and validate novel targets in a variety of oncology indications and to further mechanism of action studies.
The successful candidate will be expected to independently design, execute, and trouble shoot experiments and be able to analyze and interpret data produced.
The position will require presentation of data in team and department level meetings. The ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail is a must. Prior experience in drug discovery and / or high throughput screening is a plus.
The primary skills should include:
1) Highly proficient in cell biology techniques including expanding and characterizing cancer cell lines for screening purposes, transfection, cell based phenotypic screening.
2) siRNA / shRNA / CRSPR knockdown studies.
3) Protein expression analysis such as western blotting, ELISA, and WES.
4) Molecular biology techniques such as PCR, RT-PCR, and gene expression assays.
-Master s degree with industry experience is preferred but a Bachelor s degree with at least 4 years industry experience is acceptable.
-A strong background in molecular and cell biology is a must.
-The desire and ability to learn new techniques quickly including new equipment and analysis software.
-Strong written and oral communication skills and an ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
