The Biotherapeutics department is seeking a self-motivated, energetic, detail-oriented candidate with strong background in antibody-based drug discovery, molecular biology, and cell-based assays.
The focus of this position will be to utilize existing cloning techniques to establish a library display platform developed for antibody screening. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating novel biotherapeutics for drug candidate screening, lead optimization, and functional activities employing engineered or primary immune cell-based functional assays. The candidate should be highly effective in collaborating with internal team members and support any project teams when necessary. Strong problem solving and time management skills are essential to complete diverse assigned tasks.
. Perform yeast display panning and screening for antibody discovery and optimization
2. Develop binding and functional assays and troubleshoot existing protocols with guidance
3. Routinely design and perform high quality and well controlled experiments with minimal supervision
4. Generate and independently analyze multi-parametric datasets using appropriate analytic programs
5. Effectively communicate results and findings to multi-disciplinary team
6. Maintain an accurate electronic notebook in a timely manner and comply with laboratory safety procedures
Bachelor s degree in a scientific discipline with at least 8 years work experience or Master s degree with at least 6 years work experience of directly relevant biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience.
Experience with tissue culture of cell lines and generating stable overexpressing cell lines
Experience desired with standard techniques including flow cytometry, cytokine analysis, and ELISA, and molecular cloning
Familiar with formatting 96-well to High Throughput assay systems
Familiar with multi-parameters flow cytometry analysis (surface/intracellular staining, cell proliferation) using BD Canto, LifeTechnology Attune, or the BioRad S3e Cell Sorting System
Proficiency with FlowJo, Prism, Microsoft office applications
Proficiency in molecular biology laboratory techniques (i.e. cloning, transformations, transfections, Western blots)
Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills
Able to work and communicate effectively and collaboratively within the immediate group and supervisor
