The candidate should possess a good knowledge of chemical principles through coursework and application of knowledge. Particular emphasis will be placed upon polymer chemistry and physics. Additionally, the candidate should have some knowledge of mechanical systems and design. Principles of machine design and capabilities suited to the role of process engineering where a blend of chemical and mechanical processes are employed.
The candidate may have 0 to 2 years work experience in a scientific field. Preference will be given to those with polymer processing experience and ophthalmic experience.
The candidate will be able to develop test plans based upon input from senior staff. They will be expected to document through laboratory notebooks, standard operating procedures, or technical documentation the results with conclusions for the experimentation.
The candidate should possess a minimum of Bachelors in a scientific field with preference to chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or polymer science and related fields.
