Senior Research Associate

Perform cutting edge human stem cell-based therapy research and development, data analysis, interpretation and documentation including regular report and paper generation under the direction of supervisor.
Design and assist with cell-based therapeutic R&D projects in accordance with Standard Procedures and be responsible for all associated record keeping and data entry. All procedures will be performed in accordance with departmental SOPs.
Prepare and test samples in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), using good laboratory practice standards (GLPs) at all times.
Following training, will conduct progenitor cell expansion and differentiation experiments.
Following training, will perform flow cytometry sample preparation and analysis using a flow cytometry instrument and associated software.
Perform RNA sample preparation and quantitative real-time PCR analysis using associated softwares.
Perform cloning, production and testing viral vector constructs.
Perform gene overexpression and gene editing/deletion experiments using state of the art genetic engineering techniques in both cell lines and primary cell cultures.
Conduct functional assays for in vitro functional evaluation and phenotype analyses, intracellular cytokine staining and secretion factor measurement by ELISA, and Luminex.
Maintain laboratory records and electronic files to support experimental studies and intellectual property development.
Work in cross-functional teams and assist other staff members as necessary to complete divisional goals as required.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with policies/procedures and OSHA safe laboratory practices.
Master s Degree in Life Sciences (Molecular/Cell Biology or Immunology), or Bachelor s Degree with 2+ years relevant experience in a research facility or clinical research laboratory setting. For Masters degree, manager will consider candidates right out of school if they have some research LAB experience.
Preference is "NOT" ENTRY LEVEL.
Experience of mammalian cell culture techniques, molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, ELISA methods.
Stem cell biology (such as hematopoietic progenitor cell biology) related research experience.
Practical experience of primary cell isolation and expansion, viral vector constructs.
Experience of molecular biology techniques, such as quantitative real-time PCR.
Ability to read, interpret, follow and design documents, such as SOPs and technical reports.
Must have excellent organization skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel.
