BS or MS in Molecular, Biology or related with 1 - 3 years of research or pharma industry experience.
The successful candidate will provide Molecular Biology support to all Immunology projects. Scientist will construct recombinant plasmids for the expression of recombinant proteins or antibodies using the automated protein expression and purification systems. This person must have strong molecular biology skills with demonstrated experience in cloning of known genes as well as cloning of unknown ortholog genes from species such as cynomolgus monkey. The scientist in this position must have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems in which initiative and judgment are required. The ability to work in a collaborative team environment and to communicate effectively both within the immediate group or project team and across groups is essential.
- Requires molecular biology skills such as cDNA synthesis from mRNA, PCR primer design, PCR amplification from cDNA and plasmid templates, agarose gel electrophoresis, knowledge of DNA purification, DNA sequencing and sequence analysis as well as site-directed mutagenesis.
- Experience with mammalian cell cultures and/or expression and purification of antibodies using mammalian cells is desired
