The Research Associate's responsibility will fall under Pharmaceutical Development Group s Assay Development team that supports analytical method development aimed at developing adeno-associated vector products for pre-clinical or clinical applications.
  • This position will primarily support the development and optimization of qPCR Taqman assays for quantitation of product specific vector lots, Design and optimization of Taqman assays to address clearance of process and platform contaminants from the final drug product. Additional responsibilities may include supporting pre-clinical sample testing according to established test procedures. Supporting analytical method transfer activities and associated document writing.
  • Execute assigned tasks following appropriate laboratory/technical procedures under minimal supervision
  • Assist with the investigation, creation and development of methods, experiments and / or technologies
  • Make detailed observations and analyze data to provide an interpretation of results
  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and / or quantitative analyses
  • Present data in group and project team meetings
  • Produce competent, reproducible results to a high technical standard
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized laboratory records and note books

Position Requirements and Experience:
  • BS/BA or MS (1-2 years) relevant experience in bio-pharma R&D, process development or assay development group
  • General molecular biology skills (DNA/RNA isolation and analysis, PCR/qPCR) is required
  • Experience in developing/optimizing qPCR assays is desired
  • Familiarity with ELISA, western blotting, aseptic cell culture techniques is a plus
  • Must be detail-oriented with good organization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to take on multiple responsibilities and work in small team environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office and common laboratory softwares like Primer Express, Geneious, SoftmaxPro, GraphPad Prism, etc.
