The Protein Homeostasis Thematic Center of Excellence (PH TCoE) is seeking an experienced industry scientist for a temp position. The successful candidate will have a well-documented background of scientific expertise in molecular and cellular biology/biochemistry. The candidate will work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment to use cell-based assays in support of small molecule drug discovery. Independence and good communication are essential.
The PH TCoE one of the fundamental research and early development engines delivering therapeutics to patients. As a thematic center, the PH TCoE is agnostic to therapeutic modality or disease area. The group integrates discovery research through translational and early clinical development and focuses on numerous aspects of protein homeostasis including the ubiquitin-proteosome system (UPS), protein translation, and RNA processing and stability. This thematic focus allows the group to capitalize on the cutting edge science that underpins the action of the company s most advanced drugs. Not being bound by disease area or therapeutic modality creates a very dynamic, exciting and creative environment that exploits excellent science in biology, biochemistry, structural biology, computational biology and translational development.
--This position requires an individual with MS or BS degree in biology with at least 2 years of demonstrated industrial experience in drug discovery.
--Relevant technical skills include cell culture, molecular biology and assay development. MOST IMPORTANT
-- Familiarity with LC-MS techniques, immunoprecipitation and knowledge in E3 ubiquitin ligases or transcription factors is A PLUS.
-- Additional requirements include exhibiting strong scientific/reasoning skills, demonstrated scientific flexibility and commitment to excellence; strong organization skill and attention to details.

Maintain Cell Cultures - MOST IMPORTAND
Perform Co-IP experiments
Prepare samples for LC-MS
Perform cellular mechanism of action studies
Maintain electronic lab notebook and organize results into organized reports or presentations
Good biochemical understanding
Excellent cell culture technique - VERY IMPORTANT
Understand cancer biology, molecular biology and cell biology
Assay development skills - IMPORTANT
Experience with high throughput screening/automation
Good communication and presentation skills
