Assists with the maintenance and organization of inventory of common lab equipment, reagents and supplies.
Helps make common buffers and reagents for molecular biology
Helps run common lab equipment, i.e. pH meters, UV-Vis
Executes some routine Standard Operating Procedures, SOPs
Cleans and organizes common lab areas
Oversees laboratory operations across multiple lab spaces
Routinely manages cold storage locations, including inventory maintenance of walk in cold rooms, refrigerators and freezers, and performs freezer defrosts as needed.
Contact vendors to schedule equipment repair/PM services and service contract renewals as needed.
Basic understanding of laboratory notebook documentation required.
Ability to make common buffers at a defined molar concentration and pH.
Detail-oriented and conscientious.
Ability to work independently
Ability to multi-task and effectively problem solve
Effective communication skills--must interact with many coworkers and outside vendors on a daily basis.
Introductory college chemistry and biology student
Exposure to laboratory coursework desired.
