- EHS Specialist - BS Degree + 5 years minimum experience
Prior environmental health and safety related experience or working in a laboratory/ pharmaceutical manufacturing setting, a must.
- Bachelor s degree with major course work in environmental health and safety, occupational health or industrial hygiene OR degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study from among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, human factors, accident investigation, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering and industrial psychology .
RESPONSIBILITIES will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Interpret and apply federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance in areas related to Environment, Health, & Safety.
Aid in the development and implementation of occupational health and safety programs across sites.
Act as a resource cross-departmentally in all matters related to Environmental, Health & Safety.
Identify hazards and execute corrective actions necessary to comply with applicable codes, laws, regulations, and standards, and explain these measures to others.
Analyze work processes and conditions, identify and eliminate/control occupational health and safety hazards.
Aid in managing incident reporting system. Maintain related files and documents.
Perform EHS inspections and necessary follow up in areas of laboratory safety, construction, and life safety codes.
Inspect, calibrate and maintain equipment used to collect and analyze samples.
Perform industrial hygiene monitoring and interpret results. Prepare associated reports.
Aid in the development and delivery of EHS related training.
Responsible for maintaining EHS related files.
Prepare reports including observations and monitoring results.
Perform Data Entry for EHS related files
Utilize a computer to conduct research and prepare inspection reports.
Administrative responsibilities, as needed

. Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective federal, state, and local environmental health and safety operations for the protection of people, property and the environment.
