EHS&S Emergency Response and Compliance Coordinator

  • Requires comprehensive organizational, coordination, scheduling, and computer skills.
  • Requires basic knowledge of professional and industrial business practices.
  • Coordinate formation of emergency evacuation teams at all Bay Area locations.
  • Maintains list of team members, tracks team membership, initiates recruiting team members and replacing members as needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate evacuation planning meetings; prepare and distribute action item list; track action item lists to completion.
  • Coordinate evacuation training and evacuation drills. May provide training on occasion.
  • Communicate training dates, evacuation planning, and response to questions regarding the evacuation program.
  • Maintains files/records for various evacuation and other programs to comply with regulatory requirements and/or internal company policies.
  • Creates forms, spreadsheets, and processes for tracking and maintaining action items and files.
  • Manages EHS&S files in electronic and in hard copy formats to retain departmental records and databases.
  • Maintain evacuation and emergency supply (arks) inventory.
  • Coordinates with other departments including facilities, security, office personnel, engineering, supply chain, capital projects, laboratory personnel, and management.
  • Oversees assigned tasks and reports information back to supervisor on time.
  • Provides coordination support for contractor/vendor contracting and accounting needs.
  • Acts independently at the request of the supervisor.
  • Acts as a team member and works to build rapport with others. Completes internal training requirements.
  • Uses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Two years of experience working in a professional business setting, or up to two years of experience with a graduate degree in any field.
  • Ability to take direction and provide results.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with others.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs with skill and ease.
  • Ability to use Office 365 to maintain files.
  • Ability to compose written documents of a technical nature with skill and ease.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets, tabulate data and draw conclusions from metrics.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Ability to assist and potential perform training for small groups.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, maintaining attention to detail without a loss of production.
  • Hard working, energetic, and intrinsically motivated.
  • At least one year of experience with compliance needs in an operating industrial setting.
  • Prior experience with web page design/development a plus.
  • Undergraduate degree in any field minimum requirement.
  • Undergraduate degree in a science or engineering related field preferred.
  • Does not require special training or certifications.
