Design, perform, and interpret experiments, with moderate supervision, to support bioprocess development and GMP production.
Ensure smooth day-to-day operation of the cell culture laboratory.
Generate cellular supply for Pre-Clinical studies from Process Development laboratories and/or participate in Pre-Clinical or Clinical supply campaigns with manufacturing staff.
Execute/implement cellular process development and optimization studies on one or more of the following areas: cell culture, cell harvesting, immuno-selection, tissue processing, cryopreservation, phenotyping, etc.
Design and execute well-controlled experiments, perform data analysis, and summarize empirical results, with moderate technical/scientific supervision and feedback. Present results within project team and departmental technical reviews.
Maintain and deliver sufficient supply of appropriate grade material for pre-clinical studies in accordance with timelines, and participate in clinical supply campaigns with manufacturing staff as necessary.
As appropriate, interact with other groups to ensure process/knowledge transfer.
Anticipate and fill needs for reagents and laboratory supplies in support of Bioprocess Development activities.
Organize, record and maintain experimental data according to company policy.
Ensure proper operation and perform routine maintenance of all laboratory equipment.
Assist other staff to complete all laboratory tasks as necessary.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with policies/procedures and OSHA safe practices.
B.S. in Biochemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering or Biology related discipline with 0-2 years of relevant experience -- Recent grads are preferred. - NOT interested in PhD candidates. Master's degrees OK.
Must have strong engineering or scientific knowledge appropriate for cell therapy bioprocess development.
Experience in laboratory environment is required.
Experience with culturing cells and aseptic technique is required- -- Experience must be recent.
Must have excellent teamwork and organization skills to handle multiple tasks.
Highly motivated, willingness to acquire new skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Knowledge in cell imaging and microscopy, flow cytometry, and protein chemistry preferred.
Experience working in a regulated lab environment is preferred.
Experience with software for advanced statistical analysis is preferred (i.e. Minitab, JMP, DesignExpert, etc).
