Associate Scientist:

The successful candidate must have solid technical expertise, enthusiasm for working with cross-functional project teams to support preclinical and clinical programs, and a strong desire to contribute to the development of new anticancer drugs.

Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in cell culture of mammalian cell lines, and isolation and culture of human or mouse tissue derived primary cells
  • Developing and optimizing cell based assays to analyze drug effect in preclinical and clinical samples
  • Generate data and report using optimized pharmacodynamic and efficacy assays to inform dose and schedule for ongoing clinical trials
  • Experience in handling and processing human blood samples
  • Cell-based assays for cell phenotype analysis, growth/viability and signal transduction on cancer cells or immune cells
  • Independent data analysis and presentation
  • Core cell biology skills including flow cytometry, Westerns, immunoprecipitation, ELISA, qPCR etc
Scientific Capabilities:
  • Able to independently design experiments to address a scientific question
  • Able to critically analyze and interpret data
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and implement creative solutions
  • First-rate skills in spotting artifacts and troubleshooting assays
  • Ability to critically assess project strategies and formulate ideas
  • Solid understanding of scientific mechanisms and experimental techniques, with knowledge of cancer cell biology preferable
Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute experiments independently and with high efficiency and accuracy
  • Analyze, interpret and present data
  • Troubleshoot and optimize assays
  • Understand the context, impact and timely communication of data
  • Work with human blood and tissue samples
  • Understand and execute on role tasks
  • Actively participate in the development of cell-based assays for mechanistic studies, including biomarker discovery
Requirements & Education:

The candidate must have a Bachelors degree in the Life Sciences with at least 6 years relevant experience or Masters degree with at least 2 years experience in industry
